the space between two bodies is itself a body too (abbas beydoun)
a togetherness between two people is an impossibility, and where it seems, nevertheless, to exist, it is a narrowing, a reciprocal agreement which robs either one party or both of their fullest freedom and development. but, once the realization is accepted that even between the closest human beings
infinite distances
continue to exist, a wonderful living side by side can grow, if they succeed in loving the distance between them which makes it possible for each to see the other whole and against a wide sky. (rainer maria rilke)

A celebration, this polymedia piece blending performance, sound, and moving image honors the multilayered aliveness of conversation(s) between soul-tied friends. Lyou and Lucie are such friends: they welcome you into a ritual patchworked from the prosaic and the infinite, the meme and the metaphysical, the can i borrow ur shoes and the how did we get so lucky as to collide in this space-time
Lyou is a performer, Lucie is a filmmaker. They are always having seven conversations at once. Each strand taken from one gets braided into the weave of the other, to create a giant quilt that is their friendship, growing together, becoming artists together, and separately. In this piece, they work to remove spatio-temporal linearity, to better see and feel the simultaneities, superimpositions and necessities of each mode of conversation.
The piece begins as an abstract, infinite conversation of the soul, and morphs into a prosaic conversation of life, in a non-linear and layered way. It is composed of a film, a movement performance, and an audio track.
